Marcos Miguez González and José Ramón Pardo, from the Real Club Náutico de la Coruña, were held in the 18th edition of the Carlos de Castillo Memorial - Iberian Championship, organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón. The second square was for the Argentine couple, Luciano Pesci and Barbara Brotons, while the Cantabros of the Marítimo de Santander, Enrique García and Luis Acarca repeat the third square achieved in the last edition.

During the weekend took place in Gijón Bay, the most emblematic Snipe test of the Gijón Regatta Club. The meeting was attended by 50 vessels from the north of the Peninsular, as well as a fleet of Madrid and Andalusia. The international test has convened units from Portugal, France, Norway and Argentina. Two intense days of competition, with wind from the Northeast from strong to moderate, with a short wave of a meter high on Saturday and that was less on Sunday, in two days clear with a splendid sun. The four scheduled sleeves were completed, on Sunday the Regatas Committee was forced in the first manga to change the course in the middle of the test due to a wind roll of more than 20 degrees to the North. On the second sleeve the wind fell to 8 knots.

In the opening day, the Galician couple of the Nautico de la Coruña formed by Marcos Miguez and José Ramón Pardo were the best in the two sleeves, putting themselves from the beginning at the head of the fleet and gradually increasing the distance from their most immediate pursuers, with this result they faced the second day of competition with certain guarantees of triumph. Seconds in the two sleeves on Saturday were the Santanderinos, Joaquín Armengot and Enrique Florencio ending in third position also in the two sleeves the Argentines, Luciano Pesci and Barbara Brotons.

On Sunday, the first race was for Enrique García and Luis Abarca, who with the fourth position obtained in the second test of the day were made with the third place in the general, tied to points with the rooms, Armengot and Florencio, who finished fifths in the two tests. For their part, Miguez and Pardo who left as leaders with the third square in the first manga were assured the first position of the Memorial. For their part, the Argentinians Pesci and Brotons took over the subchampionship, thanks to the second position in the last race. The Viguese Enrique Porto and Roberto Fontan won the last manga up to the twelfth square in the general classification. The Carlos del Castillo trophy, which is awarded to the last crew of the qualifying board that has completed all the sleeves was for, Hector Castanedo and Noah of Prest.
