Galicia took the witness of the annual events of the International Association of European Sailing Co-Frades, which last year took place in Naples, Italy. The Association brings together 584 experts, professionals, navigators, regatists, representatives of clubs, journalists, writers, associates and lovers of the sea, sailing and maritime culture of 35 countries. This year 2017 it celebrated its activities in the Ria de Vigo in the towns of Isla de San Simón (Redondela), Isla Cíes (Vigo), Baiona and Oia from 8 to 11 June. The main activities were:

CEV conferences and forums
Where to transmit the marine and sports culture giving rise to three conferences: on the 8th in Oia, in the Atlantic Talaso, the CEV Conference was held by a descendant of the international navigator Cristóbal Colón, Diego Colón with the title "Colón Navigante. Nautical knowledge in the 15th century." In this way the Brotherhood helps to remember that Baiona and the Ria de Vigo was the first town in Europe to receive the News of the Discovery of America by Colón. On the 11th on the island of San Simón, the VI CEV FORO took place with two lectures. One in charge of Dña. Pilar Farjas: "The Royal Philanthropic Expedition of the Viruela Vaccine of 1803" where the value of how Spain took care of its territories of America and Asia is being given to them the latest health advances that allowed them to access this vaccine from the very first moment. The other conference by Professor Camilo J. Cela Conde, who showed a little known facet of the illustrious writer and Novel Prize with the title: "Camilo José Cela Marinero"

Thematic tables
They developed on the sport of Sailing, Regatas, Maritime Culture and the potential of a network of experts, which is the Brotherhood, to contribute as Lobby to position the candle in the place it deserves in the world. From the proposals, good practices and conclusions that emerged from the expert tables, it will develop publications to move to nautical clubs. Administrators, policy-makers from the 32 countries so that they can take into account the reflections and good practices identified, functioning as the Think Tank of Sailing.

International Sail Award "Pedro Rey"
The ceremony was held in Baiona, being given to the figure of the 5 times Portuguese Olympic, Joao Rodrigues.

The events ended on June 11 in the village of Baiona, in the National Parador of Baiona, with the central act of the Brotherhood, the act of INVESTIDURade the novices become part of the Brotherhood as full-fledged Colleges and ladies. This year, 22 new members from 7 countries participated: Spain, Angola, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Argentina and Belgium In all these events, more than 180 people came from 13 countries, mainly from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Angola, Mexico, Argentina, Belgium, Paraguay, Brazil, France, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the United States of America.
