Baleares proclaims Spanish champion of Optimist in Pollença

Balearic Islands today won the Spain Championship of Optimist by communities by imposing on Andalusia in the final race
Baleares was imposed on Andalusia in the final by autonomy of the Spanish Championship of Optimist held at the Reial Club Níutic Port of Pollença. The baleares and Andalusians reached the final race, the best of three sleeves, after defeating the Canary Islands and Valencia. The last race was made with wind that has ranged from northwest to northwest with an intensity of eight knots. The ballear team, represented by María Perelló, Jordi Lladó, Nacho Baltasar, Pau Mequida and Marina Garau, was made with the first of the three sleeves. The second trial fell from the side of Andalusia, made up of Manuel Álvarez-Dardet, Nacho Toronjo, Marta Fernandez, Pepe Toronjo and Adolfo Villalon. In the last manga, Baleares was proclaimed champion of Spain. For its part, Canarias won the third place, in front of Valencia.
The tests of the day were carried out through the "round robin" system, races of all against all by groups, with the participation of Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, the Basque Country and Valencia. The wind blew up with a moderate intensity of 10 knots and a chubucco in the middle of the morning forced the fleet to return to the ground for shortly after taking up the competition at the Bay of Pollença.
The RCNPP hosted the award of the Optimist Spanish Championship, the results of which were known yesterday after four days of competition. The Andalusian Manuel Álvarez-Dardet (Puerto Sherry's Nautical Club) was proclaimed the absolute male champion and the Majorcan Laura Martínez (Palma's Real Nautical Club) was the best female. In the sub-13 category, the leaders of the championship were the Aroteño pitcher Eduardo Brito (Real Nautical Club Arrecife) and the María Perelló (Club Nàutic Arenal).
The closing ceremony was chaired by the mayor of Pollença, Miquel Ángel March, and was attended by Julia Casanueva, President of the Royal Sailing Federation; Carlos Torrado, President of the AECIO; and Joaquín Migulez- Devesa, President of the Balearic Sailing Federation, among others.
