The Conseller Baiget considers the nautical of recreation as an economic and future sector, with the purpose of which ADIN met with Jordi Baiget and Joan Aregio, respectively, Conseller of Enterprise and Knowledge and Secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness, to transfer to the Catalan Government the need to promote measures that help to reactivate an economic and future sector, such as the nautical of recreation. Among other proposals, ADIN made a speculation to the Conseller Baiget, of his project "Slayer Catalan 21st century," by which ADIN would like to lead an industrial, innovative and internationalizable project to boost a shipyard in Catalonia that would bring together all the knowledge accumulated by the many professionals of our industry.
In the opinion of Jordi Baiget, Conseller of Company and Knowledge, "The Catalan shipyard project could be a great project: industrial, internationalizable and innovative, as well as the ADIN initiative of the Innovation Awards in the Nautical Sector."Jordi Senties, President of ADIN, transferred to Counsellor Baiget, who: "95% of the registration of vessels in Catalonia is for vessels up to 12 m long, which account for more than 80% of the turnover of the sector, and that this fleet pays its expenses and taxes in Catalonia and gives work to people and SMEs here". ADIN also stated that the current model of concessions and the prices of the moorings hold back the development of the nautical sector, and that the new port law would have to consider looking for a port model similar to French, with many basic ports of municipal ownership and others, with more services, of private ownership.
During the meeting, ADIN also spoke with the Conseller Baiget, in his capacity as 1st Vice President of the Barcelona Fair, of the model of the International Nautical Hall of Barcelona, the most important event of promotion of our sector. In the view of the ADIN collective, it is following a model anchored in the past and would have to evolve towards more participatory models with a greater presence of nautical activities, as well as to promote new alliances with local companies and entities; aspects that will be discussed shortly. For its part, Miquel Guarner, General Secretary of ADIN, said that "a sector that generates 8000 / 10000 direct jobs and that in the past had had a powerful industry with European-renowned shipyards would have to have more support and that for the promotion of initiation to nautical it would be very good for public TV to regularly broadcast a program like TEMPS DE MAR, similar to the well-known TEMPS DE NEU."
