The Raid Vuelta to Mallorca has ended after 107 miles along the south and east coast of the island with a very varied climatology that has not prevented the pilots from covering the routes with averages above 45 knots, reaching, in many cases, points of up to 60 knots in sections, especially on the SE part of the island, past Cape Blanco and on the routes of the Costa de Llevit.

The Raid has brought together 20 units of motoronautics, 13 pneumatic and 7 motorcycles of water with pilots and equipment from all over Spain, especially from Andalusia, Madrid, the area of Alicante and Valencia, Catalonia and Balearic Islands.

On this occasion there was a French pilot, Meddy Menad, in Water Motos, who won the general classification, in a hard fight with the pilot Abel González of the Marablau, who maintained along the raid a 'frec à frec' at all times, imposing for a few seconds the French one on the pilot of Marablau. The motorcycle classification has been very close. The French proclaimed himself the winner of the general, winning three stages (the second 34 miles, the third, 30 miles and the fourth, 24 miles), followed by Abel González, who was second in the last three stages, with very little difference in times of each other. In the general classification of motorcycles he was third Juan Antonio Campoy, who won in the first stage.

After completing the four stages of the Meddy Menad raid, referring to the struggle starring the two pilots, he expressed his satisfaction in being able to participate and win this Raid, which he had known for a long time and for which he was interested in running it.'It has been an excellent experience, I have had a great time, both at sea, competing, and with very hard adversaries - with reference to the pilot Abel Gonzalez - but I have also enjoyed the activities on land, where I have been able to check the kindness of the athletes here and the excellent gastronomy of the island. I hope to return in the next edition, 'he told us.

The Raid produced several incidents in motorcycles, where Sergio Severi broke the hull of his bike, by a sea strike in the first stage, in the area of Dragonera and Antonio Guerrero, could not participate in the last stage between Porto Cristo- Cala Ratjada- Porto Cristo, because he detected a defibration in his hull, after the end of the third stage between Sa Rapita and Porto Cristo.

The pneumatic also took advantage of the variable meteology conditions, to adapt the race along the Raid. In the first three stages, where the coast was at the guard of the seasons coming from the NW, the boats took advantage of all the gas in this area of the Mallorcan sea.

In the Alfa class, Marcus Straver's Orange Marine team, with José Afonso with co-pilot, proclaimed himself a winner in his class. He was a title, he got it last year. Straver had as a great rival Carlos Vidal's Tsar Team II. To stress that Orange Marine is one of the units with the lowest power - 150 CV-, in the general classification has been left third, behind the Charlie ScubaElx of Jerónimo Boix and the Foxtrot of Bartolome Rotger. In the category Bravo the ZAR Team I, with Ricardo Masabeu and David Tellez, were the winners, leaving in second position the team Marina Sevilla of Antonio José Mata, followed by Team Rio de Alfonso Rio. In the Charlie class, ScubaElx of Jerónimo Boix was imposed at all stages, and was able to revalidate last year's title, followed by Vermell Lomar of Jaume Vaquer and the Syracuse of Manuel Trigo. In the Foxtrot category, reserved for prototypes and off-series boats, the winner was Rotger Bartolomé del Rotger Team, followed by Eddy Serge with his Tornado 7.5, with the third being the Bella Nautica Team, led by Juan Tenorio.

The Raid has ended in Porto Cristo, where all the participants were received by Jaume Vermell and where, after a lunch after the tests, it proceeded to the award and recognition of the pilots, as much for their sports merits as they helped the participants who had incidents at sea, providing them with help, and trailers to repair units, as was the case of the pilot Sergio Severi, who was rescued by Juan Antonio Campoy.

Stretching day, with many miles on the coast and excitement at all times in the Raid Vuelta to Mallorca 2017, which with three complete stages of speed has run through the South and the Levant of the island of Mallorca, where the pilots have traveled 84 miles. A total of 21 ships are taking part in this classic of the Mallorcan motoronautics. It has taken off from Port d'Andratx this morning at 9: 30, where the ships left the facilities of the Club de Vela, to run three long stages, that the first has had as the route Port Andratx, Santa Ponça and Bahia Sant Telmo, the second a long stage of 34 miles between Sant Telmo and Sa Rapita, crossing the bay of Palma, and running all the south of the island and the last one a trepid race between Sa Rapita and Porto Cristo 30 miles, where the ships have exceeded 50 knots on average, filming the coast with the coast.

Throughout the day, there has been a strong dispute over leadership in the water motorcycle races. Two pilots have starred in this struggle, the French Medhy Menad, who competed for the first time in this test and the Madrid motorist, with a long palmaris on this raid, Abel Gonzalez. Both of them have maintained a hard 'get to get' throughout the day that is giving the test emotion, as tomorrow the duel will continue. Only a difference of 28 seconds in the second stage and 25 in the third stage today has separated the French from Abel, in a true Match Race between both. A sports rivalry that will surely continue on the last route of the raid, between Porto Cristo and Cala Ratjada.

In pneumatic to highlight the impeccable routes of Jerónimo Boix del Scuba Elx, which has been the best in the Charlie class, with three first positions in the three classifications per stage, to Eddy Serge González first in the stages of the Bravo category, and Marcus Straver the best in the Alpha category with the Orange Nautica.

Weather conditions this year seem complicated. The weather part boosts strong winds in the northern part of Mallorca. This situation, if not substantially changed, would require a change of tour in the Raid, seeking the socaire of the temporal, passing through the south of the island and avoiding the link by the coast of Tramontana. The Organizing Committee is assessing this option, which will be decided in due course, when next Friday the 30th, the meeting of pilots will take place at the Raid headquarters, at the Club Vela Port Andratx and the "meteo 'part can be analysed at 12 hours. The Raid will have as final stage Porto Cristo, on the coast of Llevit of the island, in the facilities of Jaume Vermell Nautica.
