Navantia and its Australian partner sign the agreement to supply the main systems of the logistics ships

NSAG, the consortium formed by Navantia Australia and SAGE Automation Group, signed on 23 May, the agreement providing the Integrated Platform Control System (SICP) for the two Australian logistics vessels that Navantia is building in the Ferrol shipyard.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the Minister of Defence Industries of the State of South Australia, Martin Hamilton- Smith. The Minister has highly appreciated the agreement and stressed the importance of developing such innovative systems in Australia.

The event has taken place in the SAGE Automation factory, and has included the director of NSAG, Francisco Paños and the director of Navantia Australia, Francisco Barón. Both have highlighted the positive of the agreement and the bet Navantia has made for Australia.

Since its creation in mid-2016, NSAG has signed contracts for more than $5 million in the fields of simulation, maintenance and new construction. Francisco Paños has been very optimistic about the opportunities that Australia will bring to the company and has commented that he hopes to participate in both the Australian patrol program and the future frigates.

The SICP is the system that controls the main systems of the ship by providing it with a high level of automation, which facilitates greater safety in navigation and the use of smaller crews.
