For José Luis Maldonado and Arturo Barranco, the 57 Valencia de Snipe Trophy

The race, which is the autonomous championship of Snipe, has been held together with the RCN Valencia Trophy of light sailing
The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia has celebrated this weekend the 57 Grand Valencia Trophy of Snipe class, which has also been the class's autonomous championship and III Memorial Rafa Alapont "El Tigre." The test has included 11 participants who have held a total of five trials during the two days of competition. The RCN Valencia Trophy has also been held this weekend for classes 420, Laser 4.7, Optimist and Class A. During the Saturday day, the competition had a stable south-east wind that began blowing with 8 knots of intensity to increase later to 13 knots, allowing to hold three tests for all classes except Class A, which did not contest any sleeve. Today the wind has started blowing from the north-east with slightly less intensity than yesterday and has rolled to the south-east in the middle of the first test. The Snipe fleet has completed two tests, as well as the Optimist C, with a single sleeve for the rest of the classes.
The duo formed by José Luis Maldonado and Arturo Barranco has shown great consistency during the race, which has allowed them to proclaim themselves winners of the 57 Grand Trophy Valencia without falling from the third position, except for a twelfth that have been discarded. The second square has been for Juan Company and Miguel Cebolla, of the RCN Valencia that have done three first in the last three tests, but have not managed to get the victory by not scoring in the first two tests. They complete the podium José Perez and Jesús García, of CN Los Nietos, RCR La Ribera, just one point behind.
The Great Valencia Trophy of Snipe also coincided with the celebration of the RCN Valencia Trophy of light sail. In Optimist A, Quique Urios, one of the club's great promises, has been unbeatable to win with all the first positions. The second square has been for Filippo Binetti and the third place for Beltrán Noguera, with Victoria Espí as the female winner. At Optimist B Nano Puig has been the champion with three first and one second (and a 23 post that has been discarded). Daniela Senís was the female champion and second in the general and Nicolás Gomez of RCN Denia was in third place. The winner of Optimist C was Quique Ferrando, followed by Miguel Contreras and Borja Chulvi.
In 420 the victory was for Carles and Álex Soler, while in Class A the winner was Kiko Espí, followed by Abdon Ibáñez and Jacobo Espí. Finally, in Laser class 4.7, Carlos Sanchez has made the victory with two first and two second positions. With the same result and score was made with the second square Carlos Altarriba, being the third place for Pablo Angresola.
During the award of trophies, the club wanted to recognize the trajectory of the Marquis del Valle del Turia, José María de Belda, "el Nano," for its trajectory in the Snipe class, giving it a plaque that recognizes it as a living legend of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia. At the age of 84, "the Nano," which is the club's oldest partner, has also participated in the race this weekend and in 2016 it was made under the title of Spanish Champion Master Legend of Snipe.
