The Spanish Confederation of Nautical Clubs (CEACNA), which represents 200,000 associated families, calls on the Generalitat Valenciana to resolve at once the situation of precariousness in which the twelve nautical clubs of this autonomous community are found that have expired their administrative concession and have been waiting for more than a year for a response from the authorities. The patron of marinas warns that the temporary authorizations of half of the Valencian non-profit entities that guarantee the existence of the social nautical and access to the nautical and sports of the sea of the middle economies expire next June, and recalls that six out of ten moorings managed by these organizations are less than ten meters in length.
In the opinion of CEACNA, it is not welcome that the clubs concerned have been chaining temporary authorizations for years and it is time to adopt the only final solution: to renew the concessions and thus allow the nautical to continue their social and sports work without the uncertainty as to whether the facilities they occupy will be auctioned into a highly speculative market."The clubs are, today, the only associations capable of supporting the social model of the nautical and it is urgent that, in the case of the Valencia Community, decisions are made to ensure their survival", said José Jaubert, president of CEACNA, at the end of the board of directors of the confederation held last weekend at the Real Club Nautico de Calpe, where he stressed that the stay in the process of renewal of the concessions is "preventing an investment of 50 million by clubs in the public harbour domain."
The CEACNA working meeting also confirmed that the president of the Association of Nautical Clubs of the Valencia Community, José Mas, represents CEACNA on the Board of Directors of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation (RFEV) and urged the other federations related to the nautical activities to follow the example of the highest institution of the national sailing and to integrate representatives of the clubs into their management bodies. The current president of the RFEV Julia Casanueva, has repeatedly recognized that "without clubs there would be no candle", which can be extended to other sports such as pyragüism, fishing or rowing. Among the different issues dealt with at the board of directors held in Calpe are the meetings held with the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy (DGMM) in the field of the qualifications of the port employees. CEACNA understands that the regulations in this field are "very complex" and appreciated the willingness of the Ministry of Development to work with the clubs to provide the best services and security through well-trained workers.
