This weekend is held in the town pontevedresa of Baiona, the Spanish Championship of SUP and Paddleboard 2017. Galicia will therefore be the destination that many of the SUP lovers will choose to enjoy the first major event of the 2017 season, the Spanish Winter Championship of SUP and Paddleboard. Therefore it will be the Rías Baixas who will decide who will be the new champion of Spain. In an incomparable framework, such as the town hall of Baiona and the beach of Ladeira, some of the best national athletes of this modality will be gathered. The day, which has undergone a change of schedule to adapt to the best possible weather conditions, will start on Saturday 13 at 9: 00, when the registration and delivery of dorsal will be confirmed.

The first of the tests, Open Technical Career and Sub12-14-16-18, will take place on the same Saturday at 15: 00. On Sunday, the tests of Long Distance categories KIDS (Sub12-14-16) and Long Distance SUP and Paddleboard Open and Sub 18 will be held at 09: 30 and 11: 00 a.m. respectively. The organization reports that it has decided to vary the routes to adapt them to the new conditions of wind and tide, leaving as follows: 12 '6 "and 14 ′ Paddleboard Open will be 16 km and Sub18 11' 6" and Amateur will definitely be 6 km. This test organized by the Galician Club of Surf along with the Spanish Federation of Surfing and the support of Waira, Starboard and the Concello de Baiona, will bring together throughout the weekend many lovers of the SUP and will be the first Spanish champions of the 2017 season.
