Photo finishes the victory of the Nautic Cambrils Club in the Metromar Nocturna Regata organized by the Nautic Ampolla Club with the support of Marina Benicarló and the Nautic Cambrils Club ended on the afternoon of Saturday in the waters of the Daurada Coast. The Catalans took over more than 21 hours of race! to their top rivals the Valencians of Marina Benicarló for only 15 seconds; so the special team award, the Martin Códax Trophy with a major Vanguard endowment for the sailing school of the winning club was held by the Catalan sailing fashion club: the Níutic Cambrils Club.

Frenzy activity from the last hours of Friday at the facilities of Cambrils and Benicarló... as the crews gave the last retouches to their boats in the face of the strong wind that at that time reigned in the area of the Ebro delta. At two o'clock in the morning the two gunshots were given out in unison, in the north version with winds of a northern component and in the south with similar conditions, which was similar that the fleet that came out of Catalan waters did so with a wind in favour and those that made it from Castilian waters in a dyeing. The northern version was much faster, reaching the line of arrival in L'Ampolla in the first place the "Mon Delona 2" the Judel Vrolijk 37 of Ramón Cañellas that was made with the victory in the northern race with a chrono of 07.46.25, behind them "Sereniti," "Tumbau," Saboga "and" Rio Cinca. "The ships that had left Cambrils were in their entirety shortly after 12: 00 in the morning in L'Ampolla, after completing south 40 miles.

Of those in the southern version, the best was "Deedee" by Francisco Carvajal, who completed his 40 miles in just over 13 hours... only between him and the "Uma" just two minutes... and another with the third, the "Madrugon" who took the "viluán I" in a minute and so up to the tenth classified... impressive equality in the southern version (Photo Pedro Seoane)

But for those of the south, those who left Benicarló the theme was very different, as the wind was coming down throughout the morning, starting to blow very close to noon, entering in L'Ampolla the fleet that was still in very compact competition with a "Deedee," "Xequecafe," "Llagosti de Marina Benicarló de lider," "I," "" and "Raiya," "" The fleet entered in full at the edge of five o'clock in the afternoon.

And after the hard competition the closing ceremony of a race that wants to have its own personality and its uniqueness: a team race composed of two different races. In the closing act the president of the Club Nàutic Cambrils Ramón Vallverdú was accompanied by the patterns of the ships "Mon Delona 2" and "Rebeca I" the endowment for the team award of Vanguard de la Regata Nocturna Metromar, a valuable game of race beacons. A number of awards were also given by Raymarine, Navionics and Baitra, in addition to those of Metromar, Bodegas Martín Códax and Baitra.

12 / 05 / 2017: Ampolla presents candidacy for the Metromar Night Regatta with the 50 "Saboga"

Thirty ships from the cruise fleets of the Valencian and Catalan communities begin this morning the Metromar Nocturna Regata, which organizes the Ampolla Nautical Club with the support of the Nautico Cambrils and the Marina Benicarló, as well as the sponsorship of Metromar, Bodegas Martín Códax, Raymarine, Vangurad, Navionics and Baitra. The Metromar Night Regatta is a heavy sailing test with two independent tests: the northern version with Cambrils-L'Ampolla tour and the southern Benicarló-L'Ampolla. Each team that will represent a club sums up the times of its ships in each of the versions, and the smaller sum will be the one that will be imposed and won the Martin Codax- Vanguard Trophy by Teams. Your share of each version will have in play in corresponding Metromar Trophy, as independent races that are.

It will be more numerous to participate in the southern version, around the twenty of ships, with units basically of Benicarló, Rápita, Vinaroz, Castellón, Ampolla and Cambrils. Among them to highlight the "Raiatea" a Sun Odissey that patrons Francisco Diez, or the J-34 "Xecececafé" by Martín Rives or the "Uma" a fast Dufour 40with Felix Martínez to the cane. The northern version that will also start at two in the morning will have about 15 ships, highlighting the presence of three powerful Vrolijk 37: the "Mondelona 1" of Ramón Caniella, the "Tumbau" of Pep Ribé and the "Mondelona 2" of Fabián Escudé. Other ships to consider are the Dufour 385 "Bonatventure" by Cristina Sendra, the "Sereniti" by Eric Montaner and the Beneteau 38 "Carlai..." It will also be noted that from Cambrils there will be two ships of L'Ampolla such as the Sun Odissey 37 "Rio Cinca" by José Requena and the giant "Saboga" a Bavaria 50 that patron Antonio Faura, which will be the largest ship among the participants.

In the technical section the most responsible are the Valencian Brandon Martín for the departure of Benicarló and the Barcelona Pep Subirats, considered one of the most prestigious sailing specialists at national level, for that of Cambrils. On Thursday day the rhythm has been tremendous in the three port facilities, as in several cases it was about to decide which ship of a team would leave Benicarló and which of Cambrils. The reason for this widespread doubt was that there are cruises that sail better against the wind, and others in favor... and it is part of the strategy of the different teams to choose one route or another, depending on the weather conditions that reign in the morning of Friday to Saturday. For Friday night reception at the two main clubs of both versions offered by Metromar and Martín Códax, following the relevant pattern meeting, and beginning at two in the early morning. The ships must begin to reach L'Ampolla from dawn, and for those who participate in the southern version a difficulty additions, sail in the waters of the Iberian Sea, at the mouth, in the incomparable Delta del Ebro.
