The European Class of Catalonia Championship opened this weekend the Cornudella Trophy, organized by the Nàutic El Balís Club. The local regatist Rafael Rabasa (CN El Balís), with two successful days of competition and six disputed trials, with a discards included, is placed as a firm leader twelve points for the gerundense Oriol Piña (CN L'Estartit), which is second. Third is Joan Freixa (CN El Balís) and the first female, Lluïsa Puig (CN L'Estartit), who is fifth in the general.

Rafael Rabasa has shown that he sails in the same way with strong winds and flows. After finishing the first day of the lift between 12 and 14 knots as a leader, on the second day of the race they have blown soft winds that have not exceeded the five knots of intensity. The first test of the day, fourth of the global, has been won by Nicolás Borrás (CN El Balís) and Rabasa has been second. Oriol Pineapple who fights for leadership with Rabasa has finished the test at position 21, which discards, but which forces him not to fail any more.

To the second test of the day - the fifth of the general - Rabasa has remained dominant and won the test, which he placed more leader after Piña, his immediate persecute to the classification made a sixth as partial. In this second test was Clàudia Rodés (CN El Balís) and third Lluïsa Puig.

In the last test, the partial victory has been for Joan Freixa (CN El Balís) who puts him to the third position of the general. Lluïsa Puig second and Rafael Rabasa third. Pineapple, has entered eighth position losing the general distance with leader Rabasa.

The European Championship of Catalonia will be completed next weekend with the celebration of the last two days (Saturday and Sunday). Friday will return the competition at the Cornudella Trophy with the Finn debut and the rest of the classes will be done by the weekend: Optimist, Catamaran, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Techno, 29th and Windsurf.
