The Europe class will be in charge of opening on 6 and 7 May the Cornedella 2017 Trophy, the most emblematic race of the Nàutic El Balís Club. It will be with the celebration of the Championship of Catalonia in which more than half a hundred ships will participate. On the weekend of May 12-14, the Finn class will open the competition on Friday and the other light sailing classes will open on the 13th and 14th.

In these first two days of competition, four daily tests are planned and will have the participation of Sergi Pérez (CN L'Estartit), current champion of Spain, winner of the 41 Palamos- Christmas Race and current leader of the National Ranking. Pérez will defend in El Balís the title of the champion of Catalonia won in 2016 in Blanes, where Óscar Pijoan (CN L'Estartit) and Carlos Manera (CN Llançà) were second and third respectively.

Also among the prominent are Rafa Rabasa (CN El Balís), Spanish subchampion in Puerto Sherry and member of the national selection of the European class. Rabasa was proclaimed champion of the Spanish Cup held in the waters of Port Balís in 2015.

Other regatists to consider will be Marc Tello (CN El Balís) who has finished first sub20 and second to the general to the Spanish Cup held in mid-April in Torrevieja (Alicante) and Joan Freixa (CN Llançà) first sub18 and third to the general.

Andrea Rabasa (CN El Balís), the first female in the 2016 Spanish Championship, will be one of the favorites. Lluïsa Puig (CN L'Estartit) and Mar Doreste (CN Port d'Aro) complete the first places of the National Ranking. Patricia Figuerola (CN L'Estartit) was the first female regatist in the 2016 Catalan Championship.

Aloha Maker, 13 and 14

Coincido con el Trophy Cornudella 2017, on 13 and 14 May, will take place to the facilities of the CN El Balís el Aloha Market with the participation of different fashion exhibitors, accessories, art, decoration and different leisure and sports activities.

The Aloha Market, along with the Village of the race, will be the neural point, especially the second weekend of the Cornudella Trophy, where a large influx of participants, companions and public is expected.
