The Real Club Náutico de Madrid, with its president Adrián Dupuy, gave an emotional tribute to the four-year president of the Royal Club: Arturo Delgado. Delgado's mandate at the head of the Madrid club took place between 1980 and 1984. But Delgado was not distinguished and honored by these four, but was also distinguished by his long and long life related to the sailing sport, mainly, since as a young man among other Delgado sports he practiced gymnastics, swimming or Rugby, the last one with the Sailing in a university stage.
In Vela he competed in the international classes MOTH EUROPA and, above all, SNIPE; in this class he has sailed the most, participating regularly in national and international races. In the Star Class, he participated in the Spanish Olympic Class Championships (1986-1987), in the Christmas Race (1986) and in the First National Olympic Class Regata (1987). He has also sailed in the Dragon Class and currently sails in Cruise and Selling Classes. On the management side, as well as being the president of the RCN Madrid, Arturo Delgado has been leading the Royal Spanish Vela Federation for 12 years (1984 / 1992 and 1996 / 2000). During its three terms, the Spanish candle obtained 6 Olympic medals (5 gold and 1 silver) and 10 Olympic diplomas, as well as several world and European titles. In his extensive curriculum, he highlights one year to the Frete of EUROSAF (European Sailing Federation), an organization that later spent four years as Vice President, as well as another four years with the Vice President of ISAF (now World Sailing, International Sailing Federation). Among the many positions he has played in the sailing, the one of Vocal of the Review Board (Appeals Committee) of the ISAF from 2001 to 2012 or Executive Vocal of the COOB Barcelona 92 or vice president of the first Spanish challenge of Copa América. A trajectory and a work dedicated to the candle in which Arturo Delgado has been recognized with various distinctions. For sports purposes, he has been distinguished with the appointment of a Member of Honor of several Clubs, and has been awarded the Medal of Naval Merit with Distinctive White; Medal of the City of Barcelona; Gold Medal of the Portuguese Sailing Federation; Gold Medal of the ISAF and Medal of the Sports Merit of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, and Order of the Sports Merit, in its Silver category, granted by the Higher Council of Sports and imposed by SS.MM. The Kings of Spain.
