The Club de Mar de Almería hosted the Spanish VRC Championship of Vela Radio Control of the IOM class, which brought together in Andalusian waters 29 regatists, some of them classified in the first positions of the European past in Vitoria, from eight autonomous communities: Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia, Madrid Community, Murcia Region and Basque Country. Guillermo Beltri and Ginés Romero of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, together with Miguel Salvador of the Club Vela Port D'Adrantx, formed the final podium of the Spanish radio control championship after completing a total of 17 sleeves in the three days of competition.

The torreviejense expedition was completed with the regatists José Vinaixa, with little fortune on the second day, Sunday, April 30, in which a harsh weather and wind conditions were recorded, with the result that they recorded 40 knots of intensity, which led him to suffer a breakdown, forcing him to withdraw from the competition, ending after the three days in the place 15 of the absolute general. The three Torrevieja regatists: Guillermo Beltri, Ginés Romero and José Vinaixa, will face in just a few weeks 12 to 20 May, the world class in French waters of Pierrelatte.
