The Assyrian shipyard is the first in Spain to build a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) that will support wind marine platforms in the North Sea

It has taken place in the Gondan facilities in the Asturian town of Figueras, coinciding with the plamar, the launch of the first Service Operation Vessel (SOV) built in Spain for the shipowner Østenschø Rederi. The event was attended by the Norwegian shipowner and representatives of the trading company Dong Energy. With 81.10 meters in length and 17 meters in manga, the boat is one of the two twin SOV that Gondan builds for Østensjø Rederi - with which it has signed 13 construction contracts to date - and will provide maintenance service in the wind parks located in the North Sea for the Dong Energy charteer. Designed by Rolls Royce Marine under the name UT 540 WP, this new ship will be equipped with a 23-meter Uptime offset walkway and a state-of-the-art 3D offset crane. In addition to the runway, the vessel will have the capacity to deploy an 11-metre auxiliary vessel, which will allow the transfer of technicians for the maintenance of wind facilities in a safe manner.

Gondan is an integrated company in an environmental protection area, in the Eo era. It has three facilities, located in the municipality of Castropol (Asturias, Spain). The main factory of the shipyard is located in the port of Figueras, while the steel cutting workshop and large equipment storage are located in the Industrial Polygon of Barres. In total, it has 43,000 m ² of facilities with capacity to process 3,000 Tm / year of steel. In Figueras, most of the work is done in steel, hull assembly, assembly, construction and weaponry. Also here are the Technical Office, and the departments of administration, commercial, production, shopping and HRR and Health and Safety.
