North Sails will market a new product from next June called to revolutionize the segment of the cruise. Under the name 3Di Nordac, the world's leading sailing industry presents a candle that combines for the first time the traditional polyester fabric with the 3Di technology using the best competition ships

North Sails continues to bet on the Dacron (polyester) as a reference in the manufacture of cruise candles. A material that has been showing a good balance between environmental stability, resistance and low cost, features highly valued by the cruiser. But the firm has decided to give a new twist of nut to the use of polyester.

Traditionally, candles made of intertwined tissue lose their shape long before their structural integrity is compromised, with the consequent lack of satisfaction for the user. North Sails engineers decided to eliminate this decompensation by combining Dacron for the first time with its contrasted 3Di technology, a full guarantee of performance and durability. Thus was born the new 3Di NORDAC, a candle for medium and small-length ships that will be incorporated into the North Sails catalogue from next June 1.

The 3Di Nordac extends the benefits of 3Di technology (performance, shape conservation and durability) to a wider range of the sailing community, and at an affordable price. The result is a navigation experience with less skis, less rudder load and less drift into a lighter and more manageable Dacron candle than ever, without sacrificing the durability that is so important for cruise users.

The first revolution in the manufacture of candles took place in 1955, just before Lowell North founded North Sails, with the introduction of the synthetic Dacron candle. Forty years later, North Sails began the second revolution when he proposed 3D manufacturing, ensuring more precise and lasting forms of candles. 2010 marked the arrival of the North Sails 3Di, the introduction of the composite in the manufacture of candles known for the advanced resistance to stretching and a higher durability with the use of thermostable adhesive (against thermoplastic). The fourth revolution now comes with 3Di Nordac and its fusion of 3Di technology with Dacron.
