The Spanish Cup of Laser 4.7, organized by the Náutic Club of Portocolom and the Balear Federation of Vela, concluded today with the victory of the Alicatino regatist of the Royal Nautic Club of Torrevieja, Eduardo Ortuño, who proved to be the fastest and most versatile of the 125 athletes who have met in Mallorca from April 28 to today. The Andalusian Ana Moncada, of the Nautico Club of Seville, was fourth in the general classification and the national test was awarded in absolute female category. The absolute podium was completed by the regatists Javier Amondaráin (7, 1, 26, 7, 3, 5, 6), the Nautic Club of Hondarribia, eight points from the champion, and the Catalan Víctor Moure (5, 10, 14, 2, 5, 4, 5), the Níutic Club El Masnou, 10 points. All participants could rule out their worst result from the previous phase.

The young Nelly Rodríguez (2, 22, 3, 4, 2, 6, 26), of the Royal Nautical Club of Tenerife, who arrived on the last day as leader of the absolute general (masculina and female) paid for her pruning in the last race of the Spanish Cup, a 26 that could not be ruled out and that relegated her to the sixth position. Guillermo López of the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja is the provisional leader of the Spanish Cup of Laser 4.7, which began on Saturday in Mallorcan waters with the organization of the Nautical Club of Portocolom, with little wind and constant roles that complicated the first day in which 123 lasers of 10 autonomous federations have participated. 28 / 04 / 2017: Spanish Cup of Laser 4.7 in Mallorca: 150 ships start the tests in Portocolom

After completion of the two days of measurements, the 150 participants in the Spanish Cup of Laser 4.7 begin on Saturday the competition in Mallorcan waters with the organization of the Nautical Club of Portocolom. 19 / 04 / 2017: At the end of the month, Mallorca hosts the Spanish Cup of Laser 4.7 under the baton of Portocolom

The Nàutic Portocolom Club (Mallorca) will become one of the national sailing centres for the organization of the Spanish Cup of the Laser 4.7 class, which is expected to take part in about 140 vessels from all the autonomous communities. The competition will consist of three days of race, with a maximum of nine tests, and will be noticeable for the development of the selection ranking of the Spanish team members in the European and world champions of 2018. Bernat Xavier Nicolau, the sports manager of the Nàutic Portocolom Club and the organization of the Spanish Cup, has explained that so far 90 athletes have been pre-registered, although "it is certain that the figure will increase significantly as the race approaches and the local club regatists confirm."

The race will be held from 27 April to 1 May and will have the participation of 140 athletes from all over the country

The club has arranged a great logistical and human device to serve the national test after its candidacy was chosen by Real Federación Española de Vela. Nicolau has indicated that the organizing team will be made up of 25 workers, including ground and sea personnel (race committee, meters, bearers, judges, classification officers...), as well as 11 auxiliary vessels, in addition to those employed by the coaches of each team. In view of the large number of participants, the organisation has reserved the first two days (27 and 28 April) for the measurements and registration of the vessels. The first departure is scheduled for noon on 29 April (Saturday) and the award is scheduled at 5.30 p.m. on 1 May (Monday). It is about to confirm the celebration of a "torrada" (lunch) for the regatists and staff of the organization on Saturday or Sunday.
