The Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja hosted the Spanish Cup of Europe on the weekend of April 13-16. A meeting that gathered 45 ships at the Vega Baja club representing the communities of Andalusia, Catalonia and Comunitat Valenciana. Good wind conditions in Torrevieja waters, in general terms, although on the first day the fog put the committee in trouble. In the end, it was possible to meet the planned nine-test program in the three days of competition, thus allowing the two established discards to be applied.

The Torreviejense Roca Ascension was made with the title in absolute category thanks to the partials of 3-6-23-12-3-3-2-7-4, adding 28 after taking off its two worst results: 23-12- The second and third podium square, respectively, was left by two representatives of the Nautical Club El Balís: Marc Tello (33 pts.) and Joan Freixa (43 pts). The latter was tied to 43 points with Sergi Pérez de la Iglesia (CN L'Estartit), although the best numbers of Freixa allowed him to hang the bronze.

Tello, on the other hand, took from Torrevieja the title of Cup champion in category SUB20, while Freixa did the same in the Juvenile SUB18. As for the females, the Roca torreviejense was left with two more trophies, achieved in the Master and Women category. In SUB20 Women the national champion plate awarded by the RFEV was for the Catalan Mar Doreste (CN Port D'Aro) with a total of 59 points and occupying the eighth place of the General Absolute. In the locker of Doreeste stands out a partial triumph achieved in the fourth test.

The equality and level of the European fleet was demonstrated in Torrevieja when the general classification was closed with much equality. Double with 43 points in the third and fourth square, with Freixa and Pérez of the Church; with 59 points in the eighth and ninth square, between Doreto and Oriol Piña (CN L'Estartit) and between the tenth and eleventh place with Alejandro Pareja (RCN Torrevieja) and Monica Veenhoven (CN El Balís). But that equality and excellent level was reflected between the third and sixth positions where there has been only one point of difference between all of them.
