"Bulbox" and "Espumeru" win in Gijón the Spring Sailing Trophy that organized the Regatta Club

The Bulbox, by Sebastiano Napoli on cruise I and the Espumeru, by Daniel Ponte on cruise II, with a victory, in the Spring Cruise Trophy of the Royal Astur Club of Regatas that ended in asturian waters. The last test of the Spring Cruise Trophy, a round-trip coastal between Gijón and Luanco for class I, and between Gijón and Candás for class II was held with a low Northwest component wind with a maximum intensity of 7 knots, calm sea and cloudy day. The main difficulty of the coastal race was to avoid falling into the numerous windless wells along the course. In addition, the Regatas Committee decided to shorten the test, giving the arrival to the height of the Amosucas, in view of the possibility that the wind would be less and not the ships will not end the journey.
In class I, the Bulbox, by Sebastiano Napoli, was untouchable, gradually moving away from the rest of the fleet, crossing the line of arrival very prominent, adding five victories of the seven trials disputed and thus, making with the Trophy. The second place in the day and in the general of group I, was obtained by the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez. The third of the day would be the Great Sailing I, by Fernando Alonso, while the third place in the general classification is for the University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur, by Roberto Álvarez Bucetas. The Espumeru, by Daniel Ponte, was again imposed among the smaller cruises. Ponte has won the four sleeves in the Trophy and repeats the triumph achieved in the last edition. The second square of the day and in general is for the Silfo, by José Ángel García followed by the Ita II, by Pedro Guerra.
For their part the light sails in the classes of Snipe and Optimist fought two sleeves on Saturday, with wind from the Northeast between 10- 12 knots and flat sea, leaving to fight the last day on June 3. In Snipe, the first manga was for José Palacio and Ignacio Braña that lead the classification table, followed by Guillermo Marqués and Ignacio Prendes, the third square was for the couple formed by José Carlos Alegría and Cristina Fernández. The victory in the second race was obtained by Marquis and Mendes, seconds, as well, in the general. In Optimist, Fernando Alonso took the two tests, the second place in both sleeves was for Jacobo Fernández, for its part, Covadonga Fernández ended in third and fourth position. The general heads Fernando Alonso, followed by Jacobo Fernández and Covadonga Fernández.

The Bulbox, of Sebatiano Napoli on cruise I and the Espumeru, of Daniel Ponte on cruise II, after the last day, are established in the head of the Spring Cruise Trophy, of the Royal Astur Club of Regatas. The Bay of San Lorenzo was again the stage of the fifth and penultimate day of the Spring Trophy, the races were fought with strong north-east wind, exceeding in several phases the 20 knots of intensity, with sea of wind, on a clear day.

The strong wind raches led to the abandonment of several vessels, which suffered some mischief, especially from material breakages or technical misadjustments. The class I cruises conducted two tests, while group II cruises completed a 6.6-mile tour. In the first manga of the day, the fifth of the Trophy for the cruise class I, the most regular was the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez, with a crone on the 4-mile, 41-minute and 22-second tour. The second position was for the BullBox, by Sebastiano Napoli, who premiered a game of candles, followed by Fernando Alonso, with his new setting an X-Yacth-37, the Great Sailing I.
In the second manga the wind blew with a little more intensity, so the race was faster than the first and caused several breakages and some other problem in the maneuvers. On this occasion, the BullBox was the fastest, investing 37 minutes and 42 seconds in crossing the arrival line. The second square was for, Fernando Alonso, only 12 seconds from Napoli, the Santinimuja, of José Luis Alonso, finished third. On cruise II, Daniel Ponte a la cane del Espumeru added one more victory and has won the three sleeves that have been disputed so far. The second square was for the Silfo, by José Ángel García, closing the podium posts on the Ita II, by Pedro Guerra. The last day of the Spring Trophy will take place on May 28, a coastal race of approximately 15 miles is scheduled.
24 / 04 / 2017: The fog prevented to haggle in Gijón in the Spring Sailing Trophy
The dense fog that was installed in San Lorenzo Bay prevented the celebration of the fourth day of the Spring Cruise Trophy, the Royal Astur Club of Regatas. It could not be, the virtually zero visibility in the race field, and after two hours of waiting under the same conditions, forced the Regatas Committee to annul the sleeves scheduled for the day.
Therefore, in the absence of two days, the classification in the Cruise class I is headed by the Bulbox, by Sebastiano Napoli with 3 points, followed by the University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur, Roberto Álvarez- Bucetas with 5 and the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez with 8. In Cruciero II, the Espumeru, by Daniel Ponte, leads the group with 2 points in its locker, the Silfo, by José Ángel García is second with 5 points tied with the third, the Ita II, by Pedro Guerra.
The fifth and penultimate day of the Spring Cruise Trophy will be held on May 14 in Gijón Bay, if time allows.
10 / 04 / 2017: "Bull Box" most leading in the Spring Trophy of the Royal Astur Club of Gijón Regates
The BullBox, by Sebastiano Napoli and the Espumeru, by Daniel Ponte, are in the first position of the Spring Cruise Trophy, of the Royal Astur Club of Regatas. In light sail, José Palacio and Ignacio Braña take advantage in Snipe, while Fernando Alonso won the two tests in Optimist. The second day of the Spring Cruise Trophy was fought with north wind between 5 and 10 knots, flat sea, on a typically spring day. The tour, a cane located in front of the bay of San Lorenzo of 4.4 miles for class I, which performed two sleeves and 6.6 miles away for class II, in a single test.
In the first race the University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur, by Roberto Álvarez Bucetas was imposed for only 13 seconds on the BullBox, by Sebastiano Napoli and for one minute and 32 seconds on the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez. In the second and fourth manga of the Trophy, the first to cross the arrival line was, the BullBox completing the tour in a time of 50 minutes and 13 seconds. The Taxus MedioAmbiente would arrive second, being the third place for the University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur. In class II, there were no surprises and Daniel Ponte's Espumeru again won followed by the Silfo, José Ángel García and Ita II, Pedro Guerra, the same order they occupy in the general of group II.

For their part, the two light sleeves were held with a wind of the north-east loose between 5 and 8 knots, flat sea and good temperature. In the Snipe class, the triumph in the first manga was for Guillermo Marqués and Ignacio Prendes, then they would enter José Palacio and Ignacio Braña, followed by José Carlos Alegría and Cristina Fernández. In the second race the first two positions were invested, being third on this occasion, Luis Ford and Elena García. Palacio y Braña are first in the general, Marqués y Prendes occupy the second position, the third square is for Miguel and Antonio Suárez. Finally, Fernando Alonso was the best among the Optimist with two first, the second position was for Jacobo Fernández, second in the two sleeves, Covadonga Fernández and Pablo López were third in a manga. The general among the smallest of the fleet is headed by, Covadonga Fernández, followed by Jacobo Fernández and Fernando Alonso.
