The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has an excellent exchange agreement with France

As a result of this agreement, quotas have been obtained for the two main species that our ships capture: 1000 tons of hake and 1200 tons of rape... they also include minicuotes of eglefine and coal.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment, through the General Secretariat for Fisheries, has achieved, one more year after several meetings and high-level communications between the two administrations, an agreement to exchange fishing opportunities with France, which benefits our sector with an increase of 1000 tons of hake and a further 1200 tons of rape by 2017. This agreement is part of Spain's annual exchanges with other Member States, the most important being the volume of quotas exchanged. The agreement will allow the Spanish fleet to increase its activity in non-Spanish Community waters by achieving higher quotas of the two main species that our ships, hake and rape capture. In addition they are included "minicuotes" of species such as eglefine and coal, of which Spain does not have quotas, and which will allow our fleet to capture these species, which to date was forced to rule out.
