This weekend, on April 1 and 2, it was held in the Pantano de San Juan (Madrid) and organized by the Real Club Náutico de Madrid in collaboration with the Real Federación Madricala de Vela, the Trophy Open Villa of Madrid and the Autonomous Trophy of Madrid of the Snipe class 2017. It has been a complete success of participation, with a total of 22 ships registered, and exceeding the number of boats in 2016. Among the participants ships of Santander, Motril, Valencia and Galicia, amen of the Madrileños, they have contributed to further increase the high level of competitiveness of the event. The first manga began with a north-west wind of 23 knots, which was reheated at some times in the race and which tested the ability of the regatists with hard wind, both in the fences and in the long ones. Three tests were planned, opting for a triangle for the first two and a barlovento-sotavento for the third. It was a very competitive race with a great equality in the first positions and with spectacular scenes especially in the long ones. Finally, Agustín Zabalúa imposed his domain by marking a full of three first places In the second the wind did not miss, as it blew a northwest of 15-17 knots... with rachas up to 20 knots. In this case two sleeves of barlovento-sotavento were made, one long to San Ramón and the second shorter, Strato-Presa. The first posts were distributed between Agustín Zabalúa and the canthabre Joaquín Armengot, in the Julio Cabrera & Cia, with scenes of great competitiveness in the dyeing and soups. Finally, the winner of the Open Villa of Madrid was the crew composed of Agustín Zabalúa and Juan Luis Granados of Valencia, while the winner of the Autonomous Trophy was Martín Bermudez and Carmen Vergara.
