Jacques Caraës announces that the Organizing Committee wants to give a new meaning to the Vendée Globe

After eight editions, the Vendée Globe needs a big face wash, that's at least what Jacques Caraës just confirmed. The next edition to be held in 2020 will have a "reverse" route that it has had so far. The legendary race will begin in Les Sables d'Olone in the middle of the French region of the Loire Countries in November, changing the sense of the tour. The great lonely sailors of the international concert will sail from east to west, doubling three mythical ends: Furnaces, Leeuwin and Good Hope. For the regatta director Jacques Caraës it is a first step for a new reform of the Vendée, which will have in competition new designs in which it will be the tenth edition in 2014.
