The eighth edition of the "Costa de la Luz Winter," crowned in the different categories that were disputed: Julián Cuello (Surf Open); Alberto Fernández (Longboard); Jesús Suárez (Bodyboard); Juan de los Reyes (SUP waves); Melania Suarez (Open Women); Melania Suarez and Endika Garai (Sub18); Nerea Donaire and Joan Villar (Sub16) and Anne Calderón and Moses Domínguez (Sub14). This championship, with more than 160 registered and 3 star category, was advanced to Friday day. An intense and Marathon day, but it was worth it. With the passage of hours the sea was growing and the first finals of the championship were jumping into the water. The first of the finals to enter was that of longboard, where Alberto Fernández rose with the victory in a forceful way. After the longboard, turn for the bodyboard with the triumph of Jesus Suarez and then the mode of SUP waves, which faced difficult conditions to remount and on this stage John of the Kings was the one that managed to impose on his rivals.

The closing to this day was offered by the finalists of the open surf category, where Juanjo Fernández and Julián Cuello offered a fantastic final. Juanjo was very strong throughout the magician, but the canary surfer saw a possibility to beat him and found the desired wave just a few seconds from the final horn. During the Saturday day, the shift was for the seven finals between the young and female open categories. Due to the high number of registered, the competition started with the double podium system (with two sleeves competing simultaneously). The emotion came from the hands of the male Sub16, where the struggle between Kike Suárez and Joan Villar was of the most outstanding of the day. Another of the moments of the Saturday day was the beautiful duel that offered the Andalusian Miguel Castillón and the Basque Endika Garai in the male Sub18 final, falling into a tight closure by the surfer Vizcadino. The competition came to an end with the final female open, where the canaria Melania Suárez achieved victory. The classifications were as follows:

Getting the largest number of points to the general ranking in which it will be the second test of the Spanish Cup FESurfing is the target of competitors displaced to Andalusian waters. Today Friday will start the competition with the Open categories in the modalities of Surf, Longboard, Bodyboard and SUP Surfing. A day that is anticipated intense, with a large number of sleeves, in which will decide who will be the next winners of the Costa de la Luz Winter 2017. On Saturday day, the junior and the female categories will be the protagonists of a record-breaking edition of the Spanish Cup of FESurfing in these categories. The first positions in the ranking can be tightened or the first clear distances can be defined after the results of the La Barroso test.
