The 57th edition of the Grand Trophy Valencia concluded today in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia with a very high level of participation and five trials held for all classes. More than 100 crews of the 420 classes, Laser (standard, Radial and 4.7), Bic Techno 293, Race Board and RS: X, have been faced during two intense days of competition in which the wind has not made it easy. The participants have shown a very high level in all classes and have given their best in this test, the most emblematic light sailing of the Valencian club, which this year was also the Autonomical Championship.

The Balaguers win in 420
The fleet of 420 has shown a very high level in this competition, with a very tight board head. The brothers Carlos and Ignacio Balaguer of RCN Valencia have been consistent throughout the competition, in which they have not fallen from the second place, proclaiming themselves winners with a total of 6 points. The second square has been for Enrique and Pablo Luján Mora, of CN Jávea, who currently lead the class's autonomous ranking, just one point behind. For its part, the third and first female position has been for the couple of Julia Miñana and Silvia Sebastià, also from CN Jávea. The champions were the Spanish-speaking Nicolás Caballer and Eric Monroy, in fifth general square.

The RCN Valencia regatist, who occupies the second place in the class's autonomous ranking, has not given a truce throughout the competition, achieving four first positions and a third - which has been ruled out - in the five trials held, which has given him a comfortable victory in his class, followed by David Rey de Marina Valencia Sailing Club and Michael Majon del CN Altea in third position.

Jesus Flórez, champion in Radio Laser
The general table of the Radial Laser class has also been decided with a single point of difference after discarding, and victory for Jesus Florez, of the Valencia RCN, with three first and one second. The second square and first sub 16 has been for Gonzalo Suárez of the CN Altea, completing the podium Lucas Sala Catula, of the CN Campello. The female winner was her club partner, Marta Peñarrubia, who was fourth on the general table.

Wandosell rules in the largest class
The Torreviejense has signed a very regular race, with two first, two second and one fifth that has been discarded, which has given him the victory in Laser 4.7, the largest class of the race, with 34 participants. The second square has been for Guillermo López Martínez, also from the CN Torrevieja, and the third for Carlos Altarriba, from the RCN Valencia. The female champion was Lara Sabine Himmel, of the CN Calpe, which was also the first sub16.

Manon Benassem, unanswered at Bic Techno 293 Plus
The regatist of the French Hispanic CW of Valencia has been brilliant, without falling from the first position throughout the race, proclaiming itself absolute and female champion in the class Bic Techno 293 Plus. The subchampion has been Andrea Emone with all seconds, and the third place for Theo Sauer, both of the same club as the winner. In the sub17 category of Bic Techo the winner was Víctor Ruiz Roca, also from the French Hispanic CW, thanks to a very good performance with two first, two seconds, and a quarter that has been discarded. The second and third position has been for Sofia Boscarol and Guillermo Espí, respectively, both of the CN Alicante Costa Blanca, which have ended up tied to 9 points and with Boscarol as female winner. With five participants, in the Bic Techno class sub 15, Tomás Mossel of the French Hispanic CW was the winner thanks to a great performance with all the first and a second place. He was followed by Diego Ruiz and Manuel Ibáñez, both from the same club, in second and third place, respectively.

Alicantino Javier López wins in Raceboard and RS: X
The Raceboard and RS: X classes, which have sailed together in this Great Valencia Trophy, have experienced an interesting duel between Javier López of the CN Alicante Costa Blanca and Rafa Ros of Sea Surf Patrol, with final victory for López. With the second place for Rafa Ros, he closed the Salvador Pastor podium of the Windsurf club of Santa Pola.

The best regatists of the Valencia Community meet this weekend at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia to discuss the 57th edition of the Gran Trofeo Valencia, the most emblematic light sailing race of the Valencian club, which has more than half a century of history. This year, moreover, the test is Autonomical Championship for the participating classes: 420, Laser (standard, Radial and 4.7), Bic Techno 293, Race Board and RS: X. More than a hundred units, between boats and boards, have already confirmed their presence in the test, including the best in the Valencia Community, which lead the autonomous rankings of the different classes, and will give their best to get the points given by the Great Valencia Trophy.

The organization plans to hold a maximum of 6 tests, 3 each day, during the two days of competition, which will begin tomorrow Saturday. The tests shall consist of barlovent-sotavent trapeze-shaped routes. On to meteorology, tomorrow Saturday, strong north-west winds are expected with rachas that can reach 25 knots of intensity in the first hour of the morning, but will come down throughout the day. On Sunday the forecast indicates that the wind will start blowing from the west but will roll south-east around noon, with intensities of between 6 and 11 knots. On Sunday, after the tests, the trophy delivery will take place and on Saturday, on returning to the ground, the regatists will be able to enjoy a paella at the race base.
