Javier de la Gandara led the Okofen to the victory of the Winter League Class J80... the crew capitalized by the historic ocean pattern achieved a spectacular result by signing fourteen first positions in the sixteen trials held since last January in Baiona. The "Okofen" by Javier de la Gandara rose winner in Baiona de Liga de Winter Class J80, organized by Mount Real Club de Yates and contested in the waters of the bay in six days since last January. With his regular crew, made up of Diego Fernández, Jaime de la Gandara and Hugo Ferreiro, whom Ramón Ferreiro joined today, De la Gandara sentenced a competition in which he remained leader from the beginning. He signed fourteen first posts and two seconds in the sixteen trials, leaving the other competitors without a chance.

The Okofen adds a new victory in the monotypes competitions held in Galicia, after having won, in recent months, the Prince of Asturias Trophy in the J80 category and the J80 Fall League of Mount Real Club of Yates. The second place in the Winter League was for the Miudo by Storax, a ship with Portuguese accent for which they passed several crews. In the different days, Rui Ramada, Francisca Barros, Alfonso Leite, Tiago Roquete and, in this last stage, Miguel Leite were at the bar.

They did not achieve such clear results as the Okofen, to which they could only be imposed on one occasion, but having signed much of the second positions of the different tests allowed them to finally get the silver of the competition. The bronze was for the Vidito of Michael Lago, another of the usual in the pods of J80. After giving command of the boat to Javier Rey for several days, Lago returned in this last stage to ensure, with his usual good doing, the third position.

At one step from the podium, separated from the Virazo by just three points, the Ferromeres de Enrique Porto remained; and Cansino de Fernándo Yáñez, today patroned by José de la Gandara; and the Mondo de Bernardo Macedo, won the fifth and sixth place. The final classification is closed by the New Luna de Juan Luis Tuero, the Pazo de Cea de María Campos, the Namasté de Luis de Mira, the Alumisel de Willy Caamaño, the Marías de Manuel María Cunha and the Náutico Cormorán de Francisco Javier Martínez. The Winter League Class J80, organized by Mount Real Club of Yates, was held in six days since last January in the waters of the Baionese Bay. The twelve participating crews completed five initial stages with barlovento sotavento and a coastal race in the final stage, held this afternoon. The point and end of the competition was put in a fraternization dinner held at the Monte Real facilities, where the awards were given to the winners.
