After the suspension of the tests last weekend due to the adverse weather conditions, this Saturday was held in Gijón Bay, the first day of the Light Sailing Spring Trophy for the classes: Snipe, Optimist, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7, which already offers the first leaders in the respective general classifications: Palacio- Braña en snipe. Covadonga Fernández in optimist and Alvaro Pérez in 4.7. On this occasion the wind remained stable from the north-east, which was from less to more during the two contested sleeves. At the beginning of the first race the wind did not exceed seven knots of intensity, while in the last steps of the second test it would reach thirteen knots.
The sleeves of disputed under a barlovento-sotavento course of approximately 50 minutes, on a cloudy day, with sea tended at the beginning, some bordregillos at the end. In the Snipe class, the triumph in the two sleeves was for the couple formed by José Palacio and Ignacio Braña, who held a strong struggle with Alvaro Alegría and his sister Beatriz. The Alegría would arrive first in the two races to the barlovento beacon, being overtaken by Palacio y Braña as the test went on, ending in second position in the two tests. The third square was for Miguel and Antonio Suárez. Covadonga Fernández was the best in Optimist to win the two sleeves, the second square would be for, Jacobo Fernández closing the podium posts the young, Ignacio López. Luis Díaz, for his part, defeated in both trials at Laser Radial, relegating to the second place the winner of last year's Spring Trophy, Sergio González, with two seconds in his locker. In third position, Jesus Martinez would end.. In Laser 4.7 the triumph was for, Alvaro Pérez with two first followed by, Diego Jiménez.
