On April 13, the most massive race begins: the 30th Salt Route
The Salt Route in which it will be its thirty-seventh edition will be disputed as always in extraordinary, difficult to predict... unstable scenarios, with many variables of forcing various strategies and tactics that will make navigation, as always in the Pepe Ferres Trophy, demanding, beautiful and complicated. The North Sal Version that will leave next Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10: 00 a.m. from Port Ginesta, will compete on a 140-mile direct course to the Sant Antoni Nautical Club of Portmany in Ibiza. The race from Barcelona, is basically a navigation of medium height very conditioned by the weather panoramas of the northern coast of Mallorca and Ibiza and also of the Gulf of Sant Jordi. A circuit in which in 2016 the absolute avenger was proclaimed the Botin 65 "CARO" of the German Maximilian Klink, who also achieved the victory in Real Time. Something very difficult in a race like La Sal.
The East Version, which is scheduled for 14: 00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, from the Royal Nautical Club of Denia, involves a 120-mile circuit that forces the teams in competition to take Formentera by port, the island of Tagomago and, sailing on the north coast of Ibiza, to reach Sant Antoni de Portmany. The route from Denia, in which it was defeated in the last edition by Damia Verdera, with the Dufour 40 "Final of Work," of the Nautical Club of Ibiza, is drawn as a demanding and complex regatta in which they cohabit the navigation of height with a coastal journey loaded with options, very influenced by the microclimates of the coast of the Pitiussa Mayor and the Freus de Formentera. A singlature in which the last edition of the race, the fastest boat in the fleet, the winner of the Real Time classification, was for the Swan 80 of the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, the spectacular "Plis Play" armed by Vicente García.
The new West Version of La Sal, sails at 12: 00 on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from Port of Andratx to St. Antoni, leaving the islands of Tagomago, Formentera, Es Vedrá, Bledas and Rabbit for starboard. Some 103 miles of singladura, which are drawn as a fairly affordable journey through distances but with great tactical difficulties, especially from Tagomago and up to the line of arrival in Cab Negret, in Sant Antoni de Portmany. The West Version is the great sport novelty of the 30th anniversary of La Sal, a tour, in which everything is to be written and recorded, designed to enhance the participation of teams from Mallorca and Menorca and also the only one from La Sal that is disputed between two Island of the Balear Archipelago, a condition that has served as an argument for the Balar Government, through the Institute of Business Innovation of the Balerea Islands, to have created the "Trophy between the Islands," a prize based on an exclusive piece of clear artistic value, which was awarded to the absolute winner of this Western version of La Sal. A tour in which, for the time being, registration already includes highly competitive teams with important sports results in the history of the Sal that aspires to become, in the short term, an important race within the calendar of high-altitude tests.
