The Roquette are taken to Portugal the Cholo Marina and the Ssangyong of 420 stays in Vigo
The regatta in memory of Cholo Marina in its tenth edition was left for Portugal, a victory that continues to evade the Viguese fleet... "We Do Sailing" of the Roquette ended up adding a second place in the first of the three races of the day and won the next one, allowing with the secured victory not to fight the third manga. For Tiago Roquette this is the second victory in the Memorial Cholo Marina, as it already won in 2009... the Lusian ships have won the victory in 2008, 2009, 2014 and 2017. In the Laser class, Pedro Salgado (Marítimo de Canido) dramatically reassembled his initial OCS in 4.7 and with three first, two seconds and a third between the two days, he surpassed the Sabatino leader, the Santi Moreno (RCNV), who finished third. In Standard, the luso Serafim Gonçalves was the best, followed by Luis Pérez Canal (RCNV), while in Radio the walk of Gonzalo Martínez (Marítimo de Canido) to his six adversaries was unanswered: six races, six triumphs. In class 420 Carlota Hernández and Ana Carrasco (RC Nautico de Vigo) sustained the attack of Eduard Ferrer and Carlos de Maqua (CN El Balís) and rose with victory.
16 / 03 / 2017: The Nautico de Vigo remembers Cholo Marina with the tenth edition of its race
Tenth edition of the Regata Cholo Marina (which I don't like much about Memorial, very much used in "a terra das meigas gallegos"), of the great and unforgettable Cholo Marina. It will be this weekend with about 60 snipes, 420 and laser that will be mostly Galician, with the exception of several 420 Catalans who are training face to face the Spanish Championship of the class to be held shortly in Vigo. The "Cholo race is sponsored by Ssangyong and organized by the Vigo Nautico.
The Great Secret of Cholo Marina
Everyone in the candle knows who Cholo was, who was one of the best snipers of the 50, 60, 70 and early 80... also many know that he was an emblematic president of the Galician Federation of Vela... some less remember that candidate for the Spanish Federation of Vela... and no one or almost no one who did as president of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... well informal... but he was. We went back to the elections held after the announcement of the sadly late Manuel Frade that he did not follow, and that Franco Cobas would win... I spoke personally with both Frade and the three candidates and I asked them that in those days of transition, on days of Caixanova Week, it was Cholo the "president face the public..." and so it was... it is not necessary to say that he was extremely happy and I had the double honor: to ask the candidates and Manuel Frade to accompany him in several acts as his faithful squire that I was in those days.
