A great initiative of the Monte Real Club de Yates that these days hosts a days of training in security in sports ports organized by Repsol in which workers from different marines of Galicia participate. The attendees are a group of 41 sailors from the Real Club Nautico de Portosín, the Puerto Deportivo de San Vicente do Mar, the Marina Punta Lagoa, the Real Club Nautico de Vigo, the Puerto Deportivo de Baiona and the Monte Real Club de Yates. The purpose of the sessions, provided by Repsol's technical assistance technician, Adrián Pérez, and the SMAC (Safety, Environment and Quality) technique of Repsol, Rosa Pérez, is for sailors to recycle their skills on safety and good practice issues, and to acquire the necessary knowledge to act correctly in the event of an accident. In addition to the theoretical classes, which address issues relating to current safety regulations, training sessions include several practical sessions with fuel-spilling and fire-extinguishing exercises. It was precisely this last practice, that of suffocating a fire in the nautical facilities, which today most attracted the attention of the attendees. The GES of Gondomar also participated, which approached Baiona to teach the sailors how to use the different methods of containment correctly depending on the conditions and the place where the fire occurs. The security days organized by Repsol at the Monte Real Club de Yates began on Wednesday and will continue tomorrow Thursday. The opening was attended this morning by the Chief of Repsol Marine and Fisheries for the south of Galicia, Inés González Megido; and by the manager of the Monte Real Club de Yates, Óscar Calero.
