Arturo Delgado in San Juan where its club, the Nautico de Madrid, has its headquarters... the ex of the RFEV and the European Federation has clearly decided to support the candidacy of Turró and against that of Casanueva

The former president of the Spanish and European sailing federations, the prestigious Madrileño lawyer Arturo Delgado has celebrated the news that Pedro Sardina published yesterday in ABC- Vela, about that Turró has the canary Olympic medalist Josele Doreto for the post of vice president of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, if of course it is possible to win in the elections to be held at the end of March, his opponent the Santanderina Julia Casanueva. Delgado sent his closest members this morning a mailing in which he reproduces the above-mentioned news published by the prestigious rotating of the capital of Spain:

José Luis Dureste, an active master regatist and gold medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul '88, has become part of the team of Jesus Turró to the presidency of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation. The candidate trusts Dorest to take over the sports vice president. His experience of sailing in different disciplines, his involvement in the sailing world and his knowledge of team management make him the right person for a position that focuses his look at the next Tokyo Olympic Games and to create a support structure for the entire sportsmen base. Turró and "Josele" Doreste worked together in the coordination of the Spanish sailing team in Barcelona' 92, where five medals were achieved, the best palmarés in a few games to date. "I like the project presented by Jesus Turró. I think it will give the Spanish candle the momentum it needs." The candidacy of Jesus Turró is supported by the majority of Olympic medalists who recognize in him the combination of sportsman and manager, two key elements to be able to understand and at the same time to energize the Federation.

Also the ex-president, in this email, takes the opportunity to reload against the Casanueva, when he claims with great strength:

"The damage to the institution that individuals like Pombo, Rodríguez have done with the cooperation of the Casanueva and part of his team for as long as they have been occupying positions of responsibility in the Federation. As an archaeological specimen that I am after having practiced the candle for 70 years I ask the VELA collective to put aside all these people and choose a candidate who is able to return to the RFEV the lordship and prestige he had before. The regulation has changed over the years, but there are ethical and chivalry principles that within our sport must not be forgotten for the sake of it, and which generations of athletes and managers have scrupulously fulfilled."
