The Ecomar Foundation renews its collaboration agreement with the Spanish Federation of Surf
The Ecomar Foundation and the Spanish Federation of Surf have renewed the collaboration agreement they signed in 2016 with the common objective of continuing to promulgate respect for the marine environment through sport. Both entities base a large part of their activities on achieving a more sustainable planet. Theresa Zabell and Carlos García, presidents of both entities, have worked in this regard during 2016. The Spanish Federation of Surf facilitated the entry of several surfing schools into the Ecomar Grimpola and its students have benefited from the program and the Notebook of Bitácora, the essential guide for environmental education through sport.
The Ecomar Foundation has reached the age of 18 with the task of educating the little ones to respect the marine environment through water sports. For this purpose, it has been supported in a large majority of clubs, marinas and nautical centers in Spain where it has made its objectives known with the Notebook of Bitácora, the guide that Ecomar leads to its grympola for the performance of the actions. For its part, the Spanish Federation of Surf is growing at an accelerated pace. Not in vain has already entered as an Olympic sport, which will debut in Tokyo 2020. Their athletes have always been very sensitized with respect for the sea and the rivers. Not in vain, in this sport "bodywork" is the sportsman's own body. Carlos García, its president, very sensitised with the cleaning of the beaches and the coasts, did not hesitate a moment to rely on the Ecomar Foundation to meet this obligation. The agreement is based on the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Surf in the Notebook of Bitácora de Ecomar, reflecting its experiences in the area of safety on the beaches and the knowledge of the currents. The Ecomar Foundation will also continue to open its doors to surf and paddle surfing schools throughout Spain, so that its children can benefit from the educational program, Grímpola Ecomar.
Theresa Zabell, President of Ecomar, was very satisfied with the agreement. "Last year, our Grímpola Program was greatly benefited by the integration of the Spanish Federation of Surf. We have been educating in the marine environment for 18 years and we hope to continue to do so for many more by generating initiatives of this kind, and if possible with fellow travelers like the FESURF. It has been a pleasure for us to work with the future Spanish Riders and we hope to continue with them for many years helping them to keep our coasts clean. If the care of the seas is important for those who sail within a ship, for those who do so in direct contact with water is doubly important because their body is a body. All of us who love the sea feel the need to educate our young people in that respect, and this sport as well as the candle go hand in hand in achieving these very important goals for our planet. Let's say all together, Sea in Blue."
Carlos García, president of the Spanish Federation of Surf, has pointed out that "Ecomar and Spanish Federation of Surfing are infected with that passion and we want to involve others, the whole society. We want to do so, on the one hand, by disseminating the sports and activities to which the sea invites us, with a particular impact on sailing and surfing, and on the other, by inviting you to take care of it and to raise awareness of society to help correct the many attacks it suffers. The sea, it's culture, it's freedom, it's life. Ecomar and the Spanish Federation of Surf join forces to be stronger in defending our beaches and coastline."
