For the first time in Spain a cruise sailing race is held by teams starting from two different clubs

With the organization of the Ampolla Nútico Club, and the support of Marina Benicarló and the Níutic Cambrils Club, the so-called Metromar Nocturna Regata, which will be its first edition, has been completely reconverted in order to become a regatta that will be the great novelty in the national race calendar 2017, is celebrated in May. Until this year this series had the particularity of being a night test, but otherwise it was an online race between Benicarló and L'Ampolla of 40.5 miles... but this year the Organization decided to invite the Event to which it is no doubt the fashion club of Spanish nautical today: the Níutic Cambrils Club that has sponsored among other great projects in the last seasons, the Spanish Team that will participate in the next summer in Bermuda, at the Youth America's Cup.

The presence of Cambrils has completely revolutionized the Metromar Night Regatta, for a second test will be held: the so-called North Version, to be covered between this port and that of L'Ampolla with the same miles as the South Version, which part of Benicarló. Two-boat teams will be formed to represent nautical clubs, so that they add up their compensated times, and will obviously win the least time compute between the two ships. This will be the first time that such an experience has been held in Spain. The winning club will have a very valuable award for its School of Sailing, in the form of material from the prestigious Vanguard company.
At the call of Metromar, which has the support of companies such as Martín Códax, Raymarine, Baitra, Navionics and Vanguard, there is a top of ships: 20 in each of the versions, in total 40. Only to open the registration period, the participation in which will be the I Challenge of Clubs, the Níutic Cambrils Club with a powerful team composed of two pure bleeding Judel Vrolijk 37 "Mondelona II" by Ramón Cañellas, which is the current Champion of South Catalonia and the "Tumbau" by Enrique Gascón, who holds the subchampionship.
