The International School of Liquid Natural Gas is born
The Director General of the Merchant Navy and President of the Maritime Rescue, Rafael Rodríguez Valero; and the CEO of Enagás, Marcelino Oreja, have signed at the Jovellanos Center a protocol for the creation of the International LNG School (Liquid Natural Gas). The activity of the School will be carried out in the facilities of the Jovellanos Centre and in the regasification plant of Enagás located in the Mmel. This agreement, which comes from the collaboration between Salvamento Marítimo and Enagás in the CORE LNGas hive project, co-financed by the European Union, has the main objective of jointly structuring a training offer covering all aspects of LNG for professionals, both at national and international level. LNG is one of the most environmentally friendly fuels and is therefore promoting its use in maritime transport and in port areas in Spain and Europe. The Jovellanos Centre is one of the few centres in the European Union that provides the course "LNG fire risk management" for emergency action.
