The exhibition is open in the offices of the Tercio de la Marina in San Fernando (Cadiz)

As part of the commemorative events of the 48th anniversary of the creation of the Marine Infantry and until Wednesday, February 22, it will be open to the public at the San Carlos- San Fernando Marine Battles, a commemorative exhibition of the Third Centenary of the Marina Battles. This event is part of the different cultural events that, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Marine Infantry, will take place in the Bay of Cadiz. The sample consists of models, uniforms and explanatory tables and is installed in the tunnel at the main entrance of the quartering. Those interested in visiting the exhibition may do so according to the following schedule:

  • Mothers (Monday to Thursday): from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tomorrow (Friday): from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Afternoon (Tuesday and Thursday): from 5 to 7 p.m.

You will also be able to access the Historical Hall and thus know the becoming of the Spanish Marine Infantry, the oldest in the world, during its 480 years of life. The Navy Battalions were organized in 1717 by the Minister of Marina and Indias José Patiño, the first to constitute the so-called Navy, Bajeles, Marina, Ocean, Mediterranean and Barlovento. Its mission focused on the garrison of the ships in which the fire fires prevailed during the boarding, in addition to being part of the artillery endowments and making landings, as part of the "Disembarkation Columns" made up of the sum of the garrison of the ships involved in the action.
