Baleària ha llegado a un acuerdo con Astilleros del Guadalquivir para llevar a cabo las varadas anuales o reparaciones de sus fast ferries durante los próximos cuatro años. Para ello, en los próximos meses los astilleros deberán reconvertir tres de sus gradas actuales en una de mayor capacidad. Estas obras permitirán albergar buques con una eslora de hasta los 90 metros y manga de 28 metros

Baleària has reached an agreement with Guadelabvir Shipyards to carry out the annual strands or repairs of its fast ferries over the next four years. To this end, the shipyards will have to turn three of their current stands into one with greater capacity. These works will allow to house ships with a length of up to 90 meters and a sleeve of 28 meters

Work is beginning to re-energize Baleària's "Jaume II" fast ferry at the Guadalquivir Shipyards, where the four main engines will be replaced to improve its propulsion system and reduce both fuel consumption and polluting emissions. The installation of the new engines, which is valued at more than 5.5 million euros, is part of the company's investment plan to modernise its fleet and to be able to guarantee a better service to customers. The president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, has pointed out that the new engines "will be 10% more energy efficient"This will allow NOx emissions to be reduced by more than 70%. Utor has also noted that this intervention will increase the reliability and speed of the ship, which "will be able to maintain a cruise speed of 35 knots".

In addition to the remotorization work, a reform of the ship's interior spaces is also planned to win in comfort and modernity. All the seats and the carpeting of the living rooms will be changed, an upper living room will be enabled, the cafés and their exhibitors will be reformed and more light will be installed in all the passenger areas of the ship. The ship, which has a capacity for 600 passengers, has a length of 81 meters and a sleeve of 26, offers accommodation in a seat and a top seat and has a cafeteria, shop and services for the transport of pets and people with reduced mobility among others. Baleària already remotorized the fast ferry "Avemar Dos," which operates in the line of Ceuta-Algeciras, and carried out a comprehensive reform of the interiors, which have allowed passengers to offer greater comfort and speed during the journey. The company invested more than €7.5 million in these improvement work.
