The construction of this ship has required more than a million hours of work, in addition to 130,000 engineering, and has involved the return to civil construction in the Ria de Ferrol 12 years later

Navantia and PMI (Mexican Petroleum) have signed on February 10 the delivery of the Platforms Support Ship (BAP) named "Pride Petrolero," built in the Ria de Ferrol shipyards. This is made available after the successful completion of the sea tests and the extension work agreed with the customer.

The BAP or flotel is a multi-purpose and technologically advanced ship with the capacity to accommodate for long periods of time some 700 workers on the oil platforms. The main mission of the ship, characterized by its dynamic positioning capacity DP3, is to offer maximum comfort on the high seas, so it has cabins, leisure and leisure rooms that allow to ensure this high level of habitability required. In addition, it has a gangway (telescopic gateway) to allow the passage of staff from the motel to the platforms it supports.

At present, the Ria de Ferrol shipyards, after the construction of the Pemex Flotel, build a BAM for the Spanish Navy, and manufacture several blocks for the Suezmax oil tankers. In addition, in the coming months, work will begin on the construction of two Cantabria-type logistics support ships for Australia, which will be fully carried out in the Ria de Ferrol, and whose contract was achieved in strong international competition last May.

On the other hand, in the facilities of Fene we are working on the offshore wind, in the construction program of 5 floating substructures for Statoil / Hywind. There is also a contract already in force with Iberdrola, whose production will begin in the coming months, for the construction of 42 jacks for the East Anglia Marine Wind Park. In addition, another contract is also signed whose works will soon be started to build 4 jacks for Siemens Wind Power.
