Two weeks to start from the 31 edition of the 200-mile-2 the winner of the last edition, the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, has delivered the Trophy by Clubs to the president of the Nautical Club of Altea organizing this classic of the 200-mile
Julián Vico, president of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, and Salvador Bayarri, a sailing vocal, returned to the Nautical Club of Altea the Trophy for Clubs of 200 miles A2. The event took place at the facilities of the Real Club Nautico de Valencia and the president of the Club Nautico de Altea Don Román Zurutuza attended. The Clubs Trophy began for the first time in the last 200-mile a2 edition. The award awards the club whose team gets the best results. In order to be eligible for this trophy, the club must be represented by at least three vessels. The prize will be taken by the team that gets the lowest score after the sum of the points of the three boats that get the best classification.
Román Zurutuza, president of the Nautical Club of Altea, expected to celebrate this new edition of the 200 miles a2 has collected the Trophy by Clubs congratulating the past winners. "It is a very special trophy that the winning club keeps at its headquarters for a whole year pending the next edition. The trophy has a recorded inscription to which the winners of each year are added." Given the time of year in which this classic race is celebrated, the hardness of winter adds difficulty and emotion to the long journey between Altea and Ibiza. "We hope that time will respect the race and be of great appeal to all the Club's partners, to the people of Altea and to all the lovers of the nautical in general", says Zurutuza. The last edition was the "Granell" of Agustín Granell and Francisco Moret, "Phonemovil" of J. Ignacio Vicent Peya and Gustavo Benavent and "Reti" of Xavier Santamaria and Nacho Ortí. the winners of the Trophy by Clubs.
In the absence of two weeks for the closure of registration, there are already more than 25 boats registered in this 31 edition to be held on March 3, 4 and 5, 2017. As it has been the usual emblematic clubs throughout Spain to participate in this classic race considered the hardest of winter in the Mediterranean. To date, the RCN Palma, the RCN Valencia, the RCR Alicante and the CN Altea are the clubs that will be eligible for the 200-mile-to-2 club. In order to bring the competition closer to the fans, the Nautical Club of Altea will put a catamaran with capacity for 100 people that will leave on Friday from the fuel station, at the port of call, at 11: 30.
