This morning, the mayor of Denia, Vicent Grimalt, the director of Marina de Denia, Gabriel Martínez, the ocean navigator, Alex Pella and the president of the Ecomar Foundation and former Olympic regatist, Theresa Zabell, have offered a press conference to present the X edition of the Nautical Hall of Denia.
This year the competition celebrates, from April 28 to May 1, its tenth anniversary, "and from here I would like to thank the press for the attention it has paid to all these years." This edition of the living room will be very linked to the environment and "we are working to make all activities related to the care of the sea," said Gabriel Martínez. In this sense, Theresa Zabell has said that "if we want to change habits for the future, we have to work with children who are at a receiving age. This edition of the competition aims to create an environmental imprint and Marina de Denia is always at the forefront of what the sea needs. Sea is only one, or we take care of it or there will be no going back."
For its part, Alex Pella has assured that "the consolidation of the living room is a prize for the effort of all these years. We agree on the way things are done, and that's why from the very first moment, Marina de Denia has had my support. In our country few institutions work to bring people closer to the sea and have a lot of merit to continue in this living room, which has a lot of life left."
Alex Pella just came to beat the record back to the world on the sail and "it's a huge illusion that makes us all have him here. He knows that in Denia we recognize very much what he does and we like to count on him every time he comes back from the sea," said the director of the Nautical Hall of Denia. In this regard, Theresa Zabell, has wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate him "for what you have achieved is huge and we are all very proud of you. In Ecomar because you volunteer for the association and it is important that children have mirrors to look at. And for us because we are your friends and for everyone in the Spanish candle because you are our hero." He has also been congratulated by the mayor of Denia "since what he has done is a very important thing and it is a pride to be the mayor of a city where one of our neighbours is Alex Pella." "I am very happy with what we have done and for the great welcome I am having," Pella said.
Free ramp
The mayor of Denia has also presented the initiative that has launched Marina de Denia to make available the ramp of the port, free of charge, for all the retirees and pensioners of the municipality. "I want to thank you for this gesture by Marina de Denia, as I know you will be very well received by our neighbours," said Vicent Grimalt.
