"Movistar" desarbola and has to decline its record attempt in Mallorca

The catamaran, commanded by Iker Martínez, was unearthed after seven hours of navigation. The crew is in perfect condition and is already in the Club Nàutic Colònia de Sant Pere, located in the bay of Alcudia
At 05: 30 on Saturday, the M32 "Movistar" from Port Calanova started the turn to Mallorca with the aim of trying to set a new record in its category. About seven hours later, after passing through the Sierra de la Tramuntana and after doubling Cabo Formentor, the catamaran commanded by Iker Martínez broke a terminal of the obencue at the base of the mast and displanted in front of Alcudia Bay. The wind conditions, which had been tougher during the first part of the tour until they reached the northernmost area of the island of Mallorca, were maintained with about 20 knots of intensity at the time of the fall of the stick and with very little wave, which has certainly been key to ensuring that the fall was clean and no damage to the hull or to any of the crew on board. After the fall of the mast, the M32 "Movistar" and its crew were towed by the support pneumatic that accompanied them on the journey to the Club Nàutic Colònia de Sant Pere, located in Alcudia Bay. The ship will return to the city of Palma over the next few days.
Once on land, Iker Martínez explained what happened: "The truth is that the sea was like a dish and the ship was going phenomenal, no pantozos or anything. Suddenly one of the diamonds, which are carbon pieces that end up in a metal piece and are hooked to the stick, broke and the obese dropped off the stick, which made the stick fall. But well, since the sea was like a dish and we were just on the island we were able to pick it up quietly and put everything inside. The ship has no blow and we are perfect.". Gaspar Morey, Chief Officer of the Return to Mallorca, said that "With the rhythm they had and with the missing stretch of girded from Salinas to Cabo Blanco they could have left the mark in 13 hours. There was a lot of wind from Formentor with a lot of rascals. It's a shame he didn't hold the stick because they were going at a very good pace."
