The Nàutic Cambrils Club officially presents the project "Spanish Press"
The Nàutic Cambrils Club has presented the Spanish Impulse project, the team of young sailors who will participate in the Red Bull Youth America's Cup and who will leave the Club. The Spanish Impulse team, formed by the best eight regatists in AC45, will be the only Spanish team of the 12 participating from all over the world. The president of the RFEV Management Board, Julia Casanueva, was present at the presentation in support of the Spanish team.
The Red Bull Youth America's Cup is held in the framework of the American Cup races and is aimed at young sailors from 19 to 24 years old who will tripulate the AC 45, the classification ships that have been used by the Cup sailors. They are 45-foot flying catamarans, equipped with extremely fast and foyers. The Spanish Impulse team consists of eight of the greatest talents of the national sailing. In their palmarés they have twelve world titles, more than six continental titles and two participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Behind them, there is a management team with a long experience and the same passion: the candle and the sea. The crew consists of Jordi Xammar, Joan Cardona, Kevin Cabrera, Luis Bugallo, Joel Rodríguez, Florian Trittel, Diego Botín and Santiago Alegre. The team is led by coach Jorge Martínez Doreeste and technical adviser Pablo Torrado. They have been accompanied by Joaquim Oliva, president of the entity that has been in charge of presenting the project and the crew; Julia Casanueva, president of the Management Board of the RFEV; Antoni Reig and Casassas, Director Consell Català de l'Esport; Camí Mendoza, mayor of the City of Cambrils; Maria del Mar Ros, Team Manager of Spanish Impulse and Jordi Xammar, member of the team.
