According to ANEN in January decrease of sales of ships and increase of 40 points in nautical charter
The market for recreational craft in Spain begins 2017 with a moderate fall of -3.89% of the enrolments, in a month in which the consumption of nautical has traditionally been the lowest of the year. In total, in January 2017, 173 recreational boats were registered in Spain, compared with 180 in the same month of 2016. These are the data collected in the Recreation Boat Market Report (January 2017), edited by ANEN on the basis of the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy.
In terms of length, the segment up to 8 meters, which represents 84% of the national nautical market, is registered 145 vessels compared to 161 vessels registered in January 2016 (-9.9%). The length between 8 and 12 meters, which also enrol 12 units in January of this year, remains unchanged. Enrolments in the segment between 12 and 16 meters grow by 120%, which best occurs from 5 enrolments in January 2016 to 11 registered last month (January 2017). The ships over 16 meters register 5 units compared to the 2 records made in January 2016, a growth of 150%.
By type of boat, the water bikes experience a fall of -14.3%, with 18 enrollments compared to 21 registered in January last year. Also the motor ships fall slightly, -4.4%, with 87 enrollments (91 registered in January 2016). The folding pneumatic vessels lose registration (-56%), however the semi-rigid vessels grow by 44.4%. The candle that in recent months had been producing negative data, improved in January 2017 with an increase of 12.5% of its enrolments (18 records in January 2017 compared to 12 in January last year).
The rental market is the one that best behaves in the month of January analyzed, with an increase in the registration of ships for use of rental of 40%. There are 31 registrations of boats for rent compared to 22 of the same month of 2016, of which 19 are ships up to 8 meters, 3 are ships between 8 and 12 meters, 8 ships between 12 and 16 meters, and 1 corresponds to a ship of more than 16 meters in length.
Andalusia, with 17.92% of the market, recorded a fall in its enrolments in January of this of -58%. Catalonia, the second Autonomous Community by market share with 16.76%, increases its enrolment by 11.53% in the month under review. Third, by market share, the Balearic Islands, with 13.87% of the market and a 14.29% increase in their enrolment.
