The X Trophy City of Torrevieja, which has been fighting since Friday 27 January, is left by the Dutch Paul Hameeteman after a third and final day complicated by wind conditions, although in the end two tests have been completed. Hameeteman has achieved the best partials, although today he has not had a good start by signing a more than discreet 71. Then, and already in the second test, I managed to leave things in place with a second. A partial that achieved even twice on the Friday day, next to a sixth square. All this causes the City of Torrevieja to be taken to 12 points in the five completed tests, of the nine planned.

The Spanish José Toronjo (RCMT of Punta Umbria) has been splendid today in a very complicated race field. He has been the only regatist who has achieved two partial wins and has done so in his Green group. These two very good numbers have allowed you to climb up to the second podium square. Although the Andalusian did not achieve some bad partials, with 4-13-8, thus adding 14 points, the same as the Italian Marco Gradoni (7-2-3-3-6), third. The best numbers of Spanish have allowed him that second position in the absolute general.

The top ten of the absolute general is closed with the Swiss Maxime Thommen (18 points); the Portuguese Beatriz Gago (20 points); the Spanish of the nautical Rapita, Nacho Baltasar (27 points); the Swiss Arnaud Grange (31 points); the American Daven Subbiah (32 points); the Italian Giulia Sepe (32 points) and the Spanish Samuel Benyto, of the RCN Gran Canaria, which has added a total of 34 points. In local key the best torreviejense has been Antonio López who has finished at 63 out of a total of 390 registered regatists. As far as Spanish women are concerned, the best in the absolute table was Laura Martínez, of the RCN de Palma, with an eighth place as the best partial. Martinez is finished at 24. The Trophy City of Torrevieja, after the delivery of trophies, has made several draws, highlighting among the gifts an Optimist for the kindness of Blue Blue, which has relapsed in Juan Santos of the CN Altea, as well as several watches of the Citizen brand, candles of Olimpic Sails, or various gifts of SailingCuack or of the Winner brand, among others.

The award of trophies has been chaired by José Manuel Dolón, mayor of Torrevieja; Fanny Serrano, Councillor of Tourism; Eduardo Dolón, President Patronato Turismo Costa Blanca; Julia Casanueva, President of the Commission Gestora of the Real Federación Española de Vela, accompanied by Javier Sanz; José Martínez, President of Som Vela (Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana); Carlos Torrado, President of the AECIO Ioda España, as well as the President of the RCN of Torrevieja, Germán Soler who has been accompanied by Vocela de Mercedes, Martin.

Day 2, 28 / 01 / 2017: White day in the Torrevieja of Optimist and Hameeteman remains leader

The extreme speed of the wind has conditioned the second day of the City of Torrevieja of Optimist... a constant wind of 21 to 23 knots of intensity... with tips that have reached the 40 have forced the fleet to remain on the ground all morning. Day 1, 27 / 01 / 2017: The Dutch Hammeteman rules in Torrevieja

The Dutch Hameeteman is the leader of the City of Torrevieja, after a first day in which the three sleeves planned have been completed. The provisional podium is closed with the Swiss Maxime Thommen and the Italian Marco Gradoni. The first female on the table is the Portuguese Beatriz Gago, while the first Spanish is Samuel Beneyto, located in the seventh square and with José Toronjo closing the top ten. After about two hours of deferral on the ground, with zero wind, at 13: 15 hours with a light wind of 7 knots it was possible to give the exit to the Yellow group, with the triumph of the American Daven Subbiah followed by the Dutch Oliver Jaquet and the Spanish José Toronjo. In the Blue group, second in liza, the victory was noted by the Spanish Mariano Sintga, while the victory in the Green group was for the Italian Margherita Picarazzi. Already in the second test of the day the wind rose in intensity, reaching between the 12 and 15 of the 220th, conditions that was to be maintained in the third test, although with the difference that in it the rain made an act of presence.

The favorites kept the guy as they could under some rather complicated conditions, about the wave being formed. The American Subbiah was going to repeat triumph in the yellow, while the Italian Marco Gradoni (seventh in the first test) was second followed by the Polish Michal Krischka, which also improves on a personal level. In the blues now it was the Swiss Maxime Thommen, ninth in the first test. Ghislaine Van Empel of the Netherlands was second and Swedish Street Lindbom, third. Previous 25 / 01 / 2017: Record of participation in the City of Torrevieja of Optimist that starts on Friday

On Friday it starts the tenth edition of the Trophy City of Torrevieja that organizes the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja. An edition that will be marked by the new record set with a total of 385 registered Optimist class regatists, representing 23 countries. Italy is one of the countries in Torrevieja and was a step ahead of the rest. It shone with its own light in 'its European championship', held in July in Crotone, then initialled its great work at the European Team Racing in Italian waters of Ledro, conquering the European scepter taking the return to Spain that it achieved in 2015. Germany again held the top positions in the World and European.

385 Regatists from 23 countries, record for the 'City of Torrevieja, which is disputed from 27 to 29 January... the great developments Argentina, Kuwait and Israel... having confirmed their presence very strong countries case of Italy, Switzerland and Germany, who did the best international campaign in the different tests of the Optimist International class

In the world event held in Vilamoura (Portugal), Roko Mohr concluded seventh, being one of the great German bazas in the previous editions of the 'City of Torrevieja'. The Torreviejense meeting will also be important for the Spanish fleet as the best of the national landscape will be given in 2017, thus being able to measure their strength and know their level in view of the first important meeting in Spain as is the Spanish Cup that will be held in mid-April in Altea's Altea waters.
