The port of La Palma welcomes the technical stop of the "Benchijigua Express" by Fred Olsen

Fred. Olsen Express is an interisland company of Norwegian ferries based in the Canary Islands. The company operates with a fleet of five fast ferries, including the world's first fast tribe, the Benchijigua Express.
The port of Santa Cruz de La Palma hosts until next Saturday February 4 the technical stop of the "Benchijigua Express," ship of Fred Olsen that in that period will undergo different maintenance work. This unit will be replaced from today by the Bencomo Express regular line of the port of La Palma with its counterparts in La Gomera and Los Cristianos. The "Benchijigua" today coincides in the East Dique of the port of La Palma with the cruise "AIDASol," on its corresponding weekly scale to that facility where it has brought 2,200 German cruises and 630 crew.
The "Benchijigua Express" ferry is the most modern "trimaran multicasco" in the world and is based on the Canary Islands. Since 2005 this ferry covers the route from Tenerife (Los Cristianos) to La Gomera (San Sebastián) in just over 50 minutes, it is also the ferry that in 2 hours and 55 minutes links Tenerife (Los Cristianos) with La Palma (S.C. de La Palma). The present unit lays the foundation for the future of maritime transport between the islands. Its high speed and comfort in the transport of passengers, cars and cargo vehicles, make it the ideal partner of the canaries who see these ferries as maritime highways between the Canary Islands. The "Benchijigua Express" is over 40 knots, with 126.70 meters in length and has a capacity for 1,291 passengers and 341 cars, making it one of the most spectacular ferries in the world.
