El vigente campeón de España de Laser 4.7, el murciano Finn Mullee, será uno de los participantes destacados.

The current Spanish champion of Laser 4.7, Bat Finn Mullee, will be one of the leading participants.

The 300 regatists registered in a first registration process will see a wide increase in the fleet to almost 400 vessels that the organization is currently working on and from all over Europe and from invited countries such as Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and India, among others still to be confirmed.

The race will be based in the Centre for Sports Tecnification of the Alcázares from 15 to 22 April and will thus become the largest sailing event in the history of the Minor Sea both for its participation and for its duration as during the almost 15 days that most participants will come to attend, in addition, the various official training, planned sports events and scheduled technical concentrations.

This will mean about 10,000 nights for the region, taking into account that the regatists will be accompanied by parents, friends and family and foreign federal delegations will do so in turn with their corresponding technical body.

The Laser 4.7 class is the benjines of the Laser Standard and Radial Olympic classes and has excellent regatists in the Murcia Region as shown by the subchampionships of the World and Europe achieved by Rafael de la Hoz in 2014 and 2015 and the recent title of Spanish champion of Finn Mullee.

The European Championship will have an important media coverage in the press, television and social networks both in Spain and abroad having already been accredited journalists from several European countries who will cover the event live.

The organization will be in charge of Univela Sailing International, which runs the CartagJanuary Rafael González and the Federation of Vela of the Region of Murcia with the support of the European Association of the Laser Class, the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela and the Superior Council of Sports and the collaboration of the Nautical Club Mar Menor of the Alcázares and the Real Club of Regatas of Cartagena among others.

With this race, there are already four European championships and a World Championship the events that the entrepreneur has been betting on the Minor Sea since 2011.
