The IDEC Sport of Francis Joyon set a new record in the passage through Cape Horn after 26 days, 15 hours and 45 minutes since they left Ouessant (France) on December 16. In this way they place the advantage, with respect to the previous record of the "Banque Populaire V," in 4 days, 6 hours and 35 minutes.

The IDEC Sport crew, Francis Joyon, Alex Pella, Gwénolé Gahinet, Clément Surtel, Sébastien Audigane and Bernard Stamm, are excited and demonstrated in a video they sent from Cape Horn, in which they celebrate their great feat. "We are super happy, we have come here with a time. Right now our intention is to preserve the ship as we have 15 days to remount the Atlantic. We are very excited about what we are doing," says Alex Pella.

Yesterday's is its fourth intermediate record including the Pacific Ocean record between the Tasmania SE and Cape Horn with a time of 7 days 21 hours and 14 minutes (Bruno Peyron record since 2005 with a time of 8 days, 18 hours and 8 minutes). The IDEC Sport is currently facing the last quarter of the tour to beat the Julio Verne Trophy in less than 45 days, 13 hours, 42 minutes and 53 seconds.
