Veka Group launches the construction of the first hybrid triban

The ships will be used for work in the marine wind parks in Europe, starting in the third quarter of 2017
Workers in oil platforms and offshore wind parks will be able to enjoy a trip to their most pleasant work center, with a significantly lower risk of dizziness, thanks to a special ship built by VEKA Group... for the new construction of two trimarans that have been specially designed for the transport of personnel and goods to wind parks. They're the first hybrids in the world. The transport of personnel on the high seas is now being done mainly with catamarans. so it will be the first trimarans designed by VEKA.
According to Peter Versluis, owner of the VEKA Group: "Renewable energies are going to play an increasingly important role... fast and comfortable transport for workers is indispensable... VEKA is very happy to cooperate in this project". Many of the technological developments try to make these types of ships more stable and comfortable for their purpose, reducing the risk of dizziness. For example, windows are available lower than usual for a better view. It also has innovative stabilizers in the hull. It has a length of 33 m and a new transmission. Five water jets will be installed, and considerable attention has been paid to safety. Three of the water jets operate by diesel and the other two are moved by magnetic generators, so that if a system fails the ship can continue to sail.
VEKA Group is a very innovative Dutch ship builder that has become an international benchmark of the maritime industry in its 25 years of existence. It currently operates in diversified maritime markets and has a wide range of specialized ship projects.
